Greetings yogis and yoginis! While March has roared in like a lion, spring is officially just over 2 weeks away. While I have lived in Teton Valley for a decade and grew up in the west, I still am fascinated by the constant flux (aka "spanda") that is so common in the Rockies. This constant change, however, can leave some of us feeling a bit depleted, sick, scattered, or stuck. Springtime often brings more moisture and heavy qualities in contrast to our cold, airy, and dry winters. Do you align your intentions and actions with these inevitable environmental changes?
Quick tip to deal with these physical and emotional transitions:
Practice yoga and/or mindfulness and self-care. Well Duh.
Yes, I know you've heard that before. It is true. Each seasonal transition is a time to cleanse yourself of limiting beliefs, bad habits, heavy/processed food, and other things that DO NOT serve you. When you practice yoga and other mindfulness practices, exercise and move, and eat real whole foods, you will have more flow for yourself and those around you. As a busy working mom, I know it is hard to fit ALL of it in, but most of it is just showing up and trying.
Anyway, I hope to see you this spring as we show up and seriously take care of our AWESOME selves at my weekly Sunday yoga class in Victor.
YOGA FRIEND SPECIAL!
Bring a friend to yoga this 8-week session and each receive $8 off for the session price (making it $72 each) or $5 off a 5-class card ($55 vs. $60) or $10 off a 10-class card ($100 vs. $110). Cards expire within 6 months. *Must mention this offer.
My March/April 8-week yoga flow class series will focus on transitions and self-care. As I've gotten older and hopefully wiser, I have fallen in love with a more self-inquiry approach to yoga and don't practice the "fancy" yoga poses as much as I did when I started this journey. Yoga is a way for me to help stay balanced in the midst of life's constant changes, stress, and "imbalances" as I've aged. I still charge hard sometimes on the slopes or on my bike, but...
YOGA is my time to unwind, restore, and keep injury and stress at bay. This next session will incorporate both new and old yoga poses and sequences, but we will take EXTRA care to listen within, practice from a place of intention, and help us move more effortlessly into spring.
Here's to showing up,
Jen
P.S. Please stay tuned for a 3-day Ayurveda Group Cleanse I will be offering mid-April. I'm still figuring out details and exact dates, but will be cleansing together with you. After a decade of studying Ayurveda and practicing seasonal cleanses, my intention is to help support you (and hold myself accountable!). Details forthcoming!
